I have had helpful and appropriate personal training. It motivates me and makes my training more interesting than just going to the gym on my own. I am in my late 60’s (although I don’t look, act and feel like it!) and would recommend this training to anyone who wants to keep fit and in good health.

I recently decided to embark on a new fitness regime and initially came to Gym Specific for circuit training. Having enjoyed the sessions I decided to take it further and have one on one sessions at Wokefield Park and also at my own home. I have gained so much knowledge and faith in my own ability, and find the sessions fun and motivating. They are always different to keep me interested and I feel great after each session. I am also feeling the affects of the sessions in other aspects of my life, I feel more energetic and much more confident in myself. Gavin is now training me for a 10 mile run next year which I never thought I would be able to do.

I have competed in sports to a very high level and found myself on a plateaux with my training and competition. I was a bit sceptical about whether personal training would help me because I usually like to think I know better but I decided to take the plunge anyway! Gavin has more than met my expectations and has made our sessions both challenging and fun. After just five, one-hour, weekly sessions I am already noticing the difference. He motivates me, challenges me, refreshes my training and I feel as though I’m back on track!

I had always assumed that by training in my sport daily that I would gain the fitness and musculature required for perform at my best, however on a whim after meeting Gavin I thought I would try out a Personal Training session. Now, a few months later, I have thoroughly enjoyed my weekly one-to-one sessions with Gavin; he makes them more than enjoyable and has tailored it to suit my preferences and requirements. I feel fitter and stronger that I believed was possible and furthermore have already lost over an inch off my waist and hips whilst managing to maintain my feminine figure! Competing in showjumping internationally and also nationally in eventing, Gavin has given me both the physical strength and confidence required to compete at this elite level so that my sporting results have become more consistent and I have been placed in the top 3 in multiple competitions since starting his training

I have been having weekly sessions with Gavin. He has specifically tailored them to help me strengthen the muscles and areas that are used in horse riding - as this is my interest. I have been doing a lot of ’core’ strengthening exercises that are helping me keep ’good posture’ in my dressage tests, along with many other exercises to help with my general fitness and strength. My sessions with Gavin are always different and well structured and are enjoyable and challenging. This along with the advice he gives readily, means I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Well I have to admit when I first started my training sessions with Gav I didn’t quite no what to expect, but I can’t tell you how professional and hard working Gav is. Not only is he well organised and puncial, but he always manages to make the session enjoyable at the same as working us really hard! I don’t think I have attended a session yet where I don’t wake up the next day aching in the areas we have worked on. I am really enjoying my sessions and look forward to them every week. Thank you Gavin, six pack here we come! I wish:-)

I contacted Gym Specific initially as although I felt healthy I wanted to improve my fitness and yet I had no motivation to achieve it on my own after a long day in the office. Pre-arranged PT sessions with Gavin encourage me to get down to the gym and I leave the 1 hours session feeling invigorated and motivated to avoid the biccies (most of the time!). Gavin has listened to what I want to achieve and only after 10 sessions I had already improved my strength, stamina and fitness, whilst maintaining a healthy weight and looking more toned. There’s no quick fix but if you have a goal to reach, Gavin will support you to achieve it. Beach holiday here I come!
